Numerology – Keys to Right Livelihood

Ancient Systems of Self-Discovery Throughout history, many cultures have used systems of self-discovery to gain deeper understanding of themselves and their place in the universe. One of the oldest systems, dating back 10,000 years to the Babylonian and Egyptian civilizations, is the science of numbers. Both of these highly advanced civilizations believed that we could understand the substance of everything through its corresponding vibration or number. In other words, they believed that each number represented the outer form of a unique principle or idea expressed in nature. Pythagoras, a 6th century B.C. Greek philosopher, mathematician, astronomer and astrologer taught that numbers are not the cause of events but rather illustrate the fundamental order and measure of the universe. He believed …

The True History of Numerology

One of the worst lies perpetrated by New Age gurus is that Pythagoras is responsible for what we call ‘Numerology’. Nothing could be further from the truth and, no matter how many books insist on the contrary, there simply is no factual evidence to support the claim. The prevalence of this belief really highlights the utter lack of real, scholarly research and the incestuous nature of texts published for the ‘metaphysical’ market. I began my forty year study of numerology. Even though I did not understand what he meant when he said, “Numbers are alive.” I believed it. For too many years, myself and millions of others have been kept in the darkness of the dogmatic teachings of the Age of Pisces. We were …

Numerology is considered as one of the earliest forms of metaphysical reading and communication. In early days people used numbers, markings and scribing methods to intercommunicate, trade and exchange their ideas. Dating back to 4,004 BC – Egypt and Babylon are recognised as recording the earliest history of numerology. There is evidence of numerology thousands of years ago in India, China, Italy, Greece and Japan. There are different systems of numerology such as Pythagorean and Chaldean. My preference is Pythagoras however I believe all methods have a place. Philosopher Pythagoras was born in Greece around 590 BC and was one of the best in his day. He was an important figure in the development of mathematics. When Pythagoras was around …
